1. Services Provided
Matt Green at “Handyman York” offers a wide range of handyman services in York and surrounding villages, including but not limited to repairs, maintenance, furniture assembly, painting, gutter work, and minor plumbing. We do not carry out major electrical work or gas-related services.
2. Quotations and Pricing
All quotes are provided in writing (email or text) before work begins.
Quotes are based on the information given at the time. If extra work is discovered during the job that directly relates to the project, we will discuss and agree any additional costs before continuing.
Smaller jobs are charged by the hour. Larger jobs may be quoted as a fixed price.
Minimum charges: £30 within York, £60 in surrounding villages.
3. Deposits
A deposit is required for larger jobs and where materials need to be purchased in advance.
The deposit amount will be confirmed in the written quote.
4. Booking and Cancellations
Bookings are confirmed once you accept the written quote.
We do not currently charge a cancellation fee, but please give as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule.
5. Payment Terms
Payment is due within 15 days of the invoice date.
We accept bank transfer or cash.
No interest or late payment fees are charged, but we appreciate timely payment.
6. Materials and Parts
Materials can be supplied by either the customer or Handyman York.
If Handyman York supplies materials, the cost will include a reasonable mark-up to cover collection and transportation.
We do not guarantee work carried out using customer-supplied materials.
7. Guarantee of Work
Work is guaranteed for 6 months from the completion date, or until it can be reasonably accepted that the work has fulfilled its intended purpose or lifespan, whichever comes first.
The guarantee does not apply if:
Customer-supplied materials were used
The work has been tampered with or altered by anyone else
8. Liability
Handyman York (Matt Green) is fully insured.
We are not liable for any indirect loss, damage, or delays caused by circumstances beyond our control.
9. Access to Property
Customers must ensure safe access to the work area.
We are happy to work in your home without you present, provided we have agreed arrangements for access.
10. Health and Safety
We follow standard health and safety practices.
Customers should inform us of any known risks or hazards at the property before work begins.
11. Changes to Terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
